How do you get to Munkstigen Via Ferrata? Munkstigen Via Ferrata is beautifully located on the Fosen peninsula, about one hour from Trondheim, Norway. The easiest way to get here is by car, including a scenic ferry crossing over the Trondheim Fjord (Flakk–Rørvik). You can also travel by express boat to Vanvikan and continue by bike or taxi. No matter how you arrive – the experience begins long before you reach the climb.
Starting point for Munkstigen Via Ferrata All registration, safety briefing, and equipment rental take place at Hindrum Fjordsenter – not at the climbing route itself. If you are coming from Vanvikan, you will pass the trail after approximately 7 km towards Leksvik. Continue to the fjord center, where we prepare you for a safe and memorable via ferrata experience in Norway.

By car

Approx. 1 hour from Trondheim

Drive to Flakk and take the ferry across the Trondheim Fjord to Rørvik. This is the shortest and most straightforward route to Vanvikan.
